Eyes on the Dollar Special Announcement, Plus a New Design
I am so thankful for personal financial blogs because before I discovered this community, I was at a loss for how to pay off the debts that were keeping us from living our lives like we wanted. Obviously, I understand the concept of spending less that you earn and how payments and interest work, but when you have tens of thousands of dollars in debt and are essentially living paycheck to paycheck, the task can be so overwhelming that you don’t even try. Since no one I knew in real life had the answers I was searching for I turned to the internet. I’m not sure I even really knew what a blog was, but I was amazed to find so many people who were doing amazing things with their money. After being a lurker for several months, I decided to throw my hat into the ring and I started this blog in August 2012. Lord knows I’ve had enough good and bad financial experience in my 40 years on this earth to share!
I never really set out to rule the blogging world, but when some money did start coming in, it was a wonderful feeling of accomplishment and real source of pride. What I didn’t know and what still gives me fits is the behind the scenes technical stuff that you need to know to really be successful online. You can write the best content in the world, but if no one sees it, does it really count? A few months ago, I was so overwhelmed with how much I don’t know that I considered throwing in the towel.
I am so thankful for everyone who has read, commented, and helped me on this journey so far, but I believe there is much more room for growth. However, I’ve exhausted my limited technical ability. I’ve even hired people who were supposed to be able to help me with well, let’s just say less than stellar results.
Drumroll, Please!
So today, I am more than excited to announce a new partnership. Grayson from Debt Roundup and Sprout Wealth and I have joined forces, and I couldn’t be happier. I learned a long time ago in business that it does much more good to concentrate your efforts on what you are good at, continue to learn, but also take advantage of the strengths of others. Grayson has helped me many times with various glitches and problems, and I’m sure he probably wonders how I ever learned to use email with my limited technical skills!
He will be doing all the stuff behind the scenes, trying to teach me better SEO techniques, and will be adding posts from time to time as well. I’m not sure where he finds the time. I think, like many of us, he is working hard now to build multiple income streams so that the future is ours. We will someday work because we choose, not because we are handcuffed to our monthly bills.
We have lots of exciting stuff coming up including some awesome giveaways, so stay tuned. Hopefully you will enjoy the ride as while continue to always keep our Eyes on the Dollar!
From Grayson: I am excited about my partnership with Kim. I think she has done an amazing job with the site and I am here to make sure it continues to grow. You may have noticed that the site has been redesigned. After some thought, I figured it would be great to bring the partnership together with a new look. This new theme allows greater flexibility and is very mobile responsive. I will be tweaking the theme as the days go on to make sure it is good to go. As Kim indicated, I will be working in the back end of the site. I will lend my voice here and there, but you will still see Kim’s great work here.
I have to thank Kim for being willing to partner with me. Once she told me that she was getting burnt out, I couldn’t just sit back and watch her site go away. She has worked too hard and her blog is a popular one. I figured I would ask her if we could partner and glad that she agreed. Thanks Kim!
Best of luck with your new partnership, I am sure you will make a great team. It must be great to only have to worry about writing now. The new design looks great too.
Congrats on the partnership, Kim! I know exactly how you feel…which is why I went the freelance writer route. I’m a software engineer by day so all the web design sort of stuff didn’t scare me much, but between that, and answering emails, and chasing advertisers or affiliates programs…..when would I have time to write? Hopefully this partnership will allow you the time to do what you enjoy most!
I think Grayson had taught me more about technical stuff in a few weeks than I learned on my own in two years.
Congrats! I will be looking for big things to come.
Love the new design and love the partnership idea, sometimes it just makes sense to mix things up and give yourself renewed energy in the process.
Congrats guys! I totally understand what you’re saying Kim! I’m also totally lost with everything techy related! Grayson is a great help!
Love the new design too 🙂
