Sponsored by Discovery Communications, Ghostober Giveaway is a Halloween sweepstakes taking place from September 27th, 2022 until November 7th, 2022. Who is Discovery Communications?

Discovery Communications is the corporation that owns and runs The Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery and several other television networks focused on traveling, exploring and learning. They started out in 1985 and have several popular divisions today – for example Oprah Winfrey Network and Animal Planet.

Who can enter the $10,000 Ghostober Giveaway?

You can enter Travel Channel’s $10,000 Ghostober Giveaway if you’re a legal resident from one of the 50 States and D.C. You also need to be at least 21 years of age or older. That’s it – a legal American resident and at least 21 years old! If you qualify then read on to learn how to enter the Ghostober Giveaway for your chance to win $10,000.

Keep in mind though, that if you are at all related to – or work for Discovery Communications – then you’re not eligible for the giveaway.

How to enter the Ghostober Giveaway

For your chance to win $10,000 here’s exactly how you can enter the Ghostober Giveaway step-by-step. 

1. Head over to the Travel Channel’s sweepstakes page or to the Investigation Discovery’s promotional page.

2. Put in your email address and click on ‘Begin Entry.’ 

3. Fill out the form with your information. Here’s what you need: 

First Name
Last Name
Email Address
Address, City, State, Zip
Phone Number
Gender (Female, Male, Non-binary/other, Prefer not to say)
Date of birth
Cable/Service Provider 

Once you fill out the entry form with your personal information you’ll be asked to check a box if you want to subscribe to some of Travel Channel’s free newsletters. There are four in total, and while you don’t need to subscribe to enter, we think you might have a better chance at winning if you do subscribe (you can always unsubscribe later). 

Once you’ve chosen your preferences you can click on ‘Next’ to continue. 

4. The last step in entering the $10,000 Ghostober Giveaway is simply answering a small trivial question. Don’t sweat the answer so much – even if you get it wrong, you’ll still qualify for the giveaway. Travel Channel will continue to ask you a question each day. Each time you answer it (via their website), you’ll be entered again into the giveaway.

5. Whether or not you answer correctly, you can continue on to submit your entry into the giveaway. 

Once you click on ‘continue to submit entry,’ you should see a confirmation page like this:

It takes a few seconds for your entry to be processed, at which point you’ll be takes to a confirmation page that confirms your entry. This is followed up by an email confirmation letting you know you can enter twice daily. Once at  the Travel Channel’s sweepstakes page and then a second time on the Investigation Discovery’s promotional page.

When does the Ghostober Giveaway end?

The $10,000 Ghostober Giveaway ends on November 7th at 8:59am, eastern standard time. Remember that the giveaway is only open to legal residents in the 50 states of America, and you must be at least 21 years or older.

How to increase your odds at winning

To increase your odds at winning make sure you fill out a form on Travel Channel and Investigation Discovery.

Besides entering twice daily, there’s not much else you can do. While some people may be tempted to enter the giveaway with additional email addresses, it’s a bit risky – in the rules section of the sweepstakes they do warn that multiple/different email addresses or identities may result in entries being disqualified.

If you win…

The winner will be selected by random and announced on November 8th. If you are the lucky winner you’ll be contacted by email or phone with 3 business days following the draw. 

To collect the prize money you’ll also be asked to sign  an affidavit of eligibility (you’ll only have 5 days to sign this or you’ll lose the prize money so try to move through each step quickly).
