In 1968 the Thrift D Discount Center changed its name to Rite Aid and this was also the year when it was listed as a public company. From one drug store to being publically listed shows the hard work dedication and the success of the company.

On the way from 1962 till 1968 when the Rite Aid was listed as a public company it opened several stores and acquired several companies. Rite Aid opened five more stores in the year 1965. It was listed in the New York Stock Exchange in the year 1970. Rite Aid is also ranked as one of the largest US organization in the Fortune 500’s. After ten years of the opening of the first store, the Rite Aid moved to 10 States of US opening 267 more stores.

The company hit the sales milestone of $1 billion in 1983. Along the East Coast, the company acquired 420 stores that actually took Rite Aid to more than 2,000 locations. This was the reason why Rite Aid became the largest chain of Drug stores along the East Coast. Rite Aid also acquired some companies on its way towards success, with the names of Baltimore, Maryland’s Read’s Drug Store Lane Drug and Peoples Drug’s.

It was 1994 when the Rite Aid twenty-four Hook’s Drug Store from Revco. The Rite Aid partnered with (GNC) General Nutrition Corporation in the year 1999 and brought all the GNC mini-stores within its pharmacies. It was June 1999 when this drug Store chain went online as it partnered with drugstore.com in order to facilitate its customers even more. Now they just can place online orders of their medical prescription and collect the drugs same day form the stores.

It was the Merger with Eckerd and Brooks in the year 2006 that took this company to the top of all the drugstore chains in the Eastern US and third largest drug retailers all over the US. The Rite Aid started its free shopping reward card known as Wellness+ back in April 2010. In 2015 it became a part of the American Express-backed Plenti Rewards program. In January 2018 Rite Aid came up with wellness+ BonusCash. So now the customers will not be given the Plenti points and in place of that, they would be given BonusCash, which can be redeemed at Rite Aid only.

It was the never-ending struggle of the Right Aid from 1962 till 1968 when it first stepped into the New York Stock Exchange. The company stuck to its vision and objectives and touched the heights of success. Whether it be the first sales milestone of $1 billion back in 1983 or acquiring of several companies in the later years. Whether it is the partnership with the giants in the business like GNC and drugstore.com or the introduction of the reward and bonus points to facilitate its customers, the company has always put every step in the right direction. That is today it is one of the largest drugstore chains in the US today and the largest chain of drugstores on the East Coast. Rite Aid is also rated pretty highly in the Fortune 500’s.

Now with the inclusion of this customer feedback survey this company has left no stone unturned in order to make its services even better and facilitate its customers even more.
